“I helped take care of Cathy at opp living for 11 years. She was sweet,funny, and on most days a joy to be around. I will miss her smile and her laugh, and the way she would flirt with any man that came into our house. She was something else. She will be missed. “Cathy was my cousin, and I can still picture the family reunions and get togethers while growing up and as kids we would run and play, and Cathy would join in with us. She would get excited and scream and laugh to where her mom and dad would tell her to calm down. Our parents would tell us to calm down also and I would think, we are just having fun and let the kid have fun also. Her disabilities were not an issue for us, and I loved to hear her laugh. However, what is etched into my mind for eternity was her political knowledge. Many a time I saw her debate an adult and spew forth facts and figures that left the adults speechless. I was in awe of her vast political knowledge, or maybe it was the realization that I knew far less than her. Cathy left a mark on my life, and I learned to never judge another despite a disability. I believe that Cathy's purpose in life was to teach others to enjoy life and never judge anyone for the outward appearance, but what lives in the heart. ”

“I knew Cathy back in the 70s and 80s when she was at the Pomeroy Care Center. I saw her again when I worked for a short time in Lake City. While she was on Pomeroy I can tell you we all enjoyed her sense of humor and laughter. My deepest condolences.”

“I am Cathy's nephew and guardian, Aaron Peck. I was heartbroken when Cathy was transferred to the hospice home just days after I had spinal fusion surgery. She passed the next day as I had feared. I am not able to travel for weeks due to recovery. This will delay her service unfortunately. I would appreciate your understanding and patience.
