Arlin Lee Ringgenberg, age 76 of Nemaha, Iowa, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, on Saturday, October 22, 2022, at Loring Hospital in Sac City. Arlin was born May 17, 1946, to Helen and Roy Ringgenberg in Lake City, Iowa. He was baptized on June 2, 1946, at Emanuel St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lytton. He was later confirmed on April 10, 1960, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Sac City.  The family lived on a farm near Lytton, where he attended country school before the family moved to Sac City where he attended and graduated from Sac Community High School in 1964.

On May 1, 1965, Arlin and Geri (Henrich) were united in marriage at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Sac City. The couple was blessed with three children: Mark, Lesa, and Shelly. He enjoyed time outside playing and practicing whatever sport they happened to be in.  Arlin was a long-time member of the church where he served as an Elder. His faith was an important part of his life.

Arlin worked in various occupations over the years. He was a welder at Nobles in Sac City; he worked at HyGrade in Storm Lake, and finished his career as a Heavy Equipment Operator for Sac County. He took pride in his job maintaining the roads, and the family often took rides together admiring his work while going for ice cream.

Arlin was always on the go. He rode horses as a child, loved deer hunting, fishing at the pond, working in the garden, and taking care of many animals over the years.  Arlin thoroughly enjoyed making memories with his grandchildren and could often be found attending his grandchildren’s many sporting events.  After a long day, his faithful dog Max always made sure he was safely in bed every night.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Geri, of Nemaha, his three children: Mark and Sarah Ringgenberg of Fond du Lac, WI, Lesa and Dale Tokheim of Schaller, and Shelly and Travis Jacobson of Alta. Arlin is further survived by his 10 grandchildren, Kris (Autumn) Kirkland, Sondra Kirkland, Haley (Mike) Tupper, Joseph (Taylor) Tokheim, Zachary (Emily) Tokheim, Morgan (Jack) Glienke, Megan Ringgenberg, Jacob Tokheim, Mallorie Jacobson, and Arley Tokheim, great-grandchildren, Landon Kirkland, Pandora and Harper Tupper, and a great-grandson expected in December.  Siblings including Bonnie (Marlin) Henson, Rita (Tom) Kingsbury, Don Ringgenberg, Renae Wirtjers, and Reggie (Lesa) Ringgenberg.

Arlin was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Helen Ringgenberg, sister Connie, and nephew Jeff Henson.
