Arlene Zimmer, age 94 of Sac City, IA, passed away on Saturday, August 20, 2022, at her home.  Arlene Joyce Hunter was born on December 15, 1927, to James and Maude (Stanley) Hunter in Appleton, Minnesota.  She attended and graduated from Newell High School in 1945.  On September 3, 1949, she married George (Raymond) Zimmer in Sac City, Iowa.  They were blessed with two children Debra and Cameron.

    For several years, she cleaned many houses around Sac City and at Noble Manufacturing.  When her husband had a stroke in October 1977, she brought him home and took great care of Raymond for four and a half years, until his death. 

    Arlene loved her family and enjoyed dances.  She will be dearly missed.

    She is survived by her daughter Debra (Dean) Rix of Fonda, IA, and son Cameron Zimmer of Rockwell City, IA; grandchildren: Shawn Rix (Catherine Barkhaus) of Fonda, IA, Heather (Tim) Johnson of Alta, IA, Tina Rix of Lakeside, IA, and Tonya (David) Hinners of Storm Lake, IA; seven great-grandchildren: Collin, Adan, Blayke, Autumn, Erika, Brett and Brendon.

     She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; parents James and Maude Hunter; brother Harold; and sister Olive.
