Linda Moutray, age 74, of Lytton, IA., passed away on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at North Kansas City Hospital in Kansas City, MO from complications of pneumonia and heart failure.
Linda was born September 20th, 1947, in Sac City, IA to Ray and Lucille (Friesner) Moutray. She grew up in Tacoma, WA, and spent the first few years of her adult life there before living in Alabama and Africa before returning to Sac City and finally settling in Lytton.
During her time in Lytton, Linda founded the Friends United for a Lytton Library nonprofit organization where she helped establish a library that continues to serve the community today. In 1992, Linda went to Iowa Central Community College to achieve her Associate's Degree in Accounting. She then used that knowledge to become the Office Manager at Park View Care Center and evening manager at Shop-N-Save. Linda was also an enthusiastic genealogist and organized several family reunions.
Linda was passionate about many different things: supporting her children in their numerous athletic endeavors while they grew up, the Iowa Hawkeyes, the Chicago Cubs, spending time in Barnes and Noble looking for books of many genres to read, Jeopardy and puzzles of all sorts. Linda also loved sitting in her chair at home reading a book with one of her pets close by.
Those who remain to cherish her memory are her brother Larry Moutray of Ohatchee, AL; daughter Deena Tauber of Kansas City, MO; sons Eric Webberson of Austin, MN, and Damon (Jessica) Staton of Newell, IA and granddaughter Stephanie Tauber of Kansas City, MO.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents, cousins Amy Friesner Murphy and Kirk Friesner, and numerous aunts and uncles.
