Janet Louise Raine

Janet Louise Raine, age 77, of Lake View, IA, passed away on December 2, 2014, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames, IA, following a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. Janet was born on November 10, 1937, in Marysville, PA, to Earl and Carrie (Bailey) Michaels. The family moved to Lake View, IA, where Janet graduated from Lake View High School. She was a member of the Methodist Church.

Janet married Charles Hudgin. This union was blessed with a daughter Donna. They later divorced. Janet was married to Richard Raine and to this union three children were born: Lawrence, Kari, and Dean.

Janet was a homemaker, manager of Black Hawk Café in Lake View, and health care provider. She enjoyed meeting people and was a very loving, caring lady, ready to lend a hand to anyone who needed help. She enjoyed cooking, baking, spending time outdoors tending her beautiful flower garden, helping the local Cub Scout Troops, and going to dances at the Lake Wood Ballroom. In later years she never missed watching the Wheel of Fortune. But most of all she just enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, spending as much time as she could attending their activities. Her favorite holiday was Christmas, decorating and baking everyone’s favorite treats. She will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her children: Donna Hudgin of Las Vegas, NV, Lawrence (Pamela) Raine of Solon, IA, Kari (Scott) Kilstrom of Marshalltown, IA, and Dean (Michelle) Raine of Lake View, IA; four grandchildren: Trevor (Megan) Kilstrom, Brooke Kilstrom, Jordan Raine, and Tanner Raine; extended family members and many friends.
