Janet Marie Lightfoot, age 68 of Early, IA, passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at Horn Memorial Hospital in Ida Grove, IA.  Janet was born on February 25, 1954, to parents James and Rita (Henrich) Platt.  She attended grade school in Early and graduated from Crestland.  Janet then attended Faust Institute of Cosmetology in Storm Lake, IA.   During her life, Janet was blessed with two daughters Kendra and Kelsey. 

    Janet enjoyed cutting hair but then moved on to working at Faith, Hope, and Charity, after a while she opened her in-home Daycare. She was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Early, IA.  She had a strong faith and participated in Bible Studies on a regular basis.  She enjoyed crafting, baking/cooking, watching crime shows on television, listening to music, and having quite the collections of cows but what she enjoyed most was spending time with her family.

    She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children Kendra (Joey) Lightfoot of Early, IA, Kelsey (Andy) Hickerson of Ogden, IA; Significant other  David Watter of Early, IA; grandchildren: Isabelle, Becca, Sophia, Jayden, Jagger, Remi, and Kaylee; brothers: Randy Platt, Tom(Lynn) Platt, Richard Platt, Bob(Nancy) Platt and Don(Sherry) Platt; Sisters: Lois Carmen, Connie(Curt)Bonnenberg, Judy(Ron) Warren and Shirley Stadler. Many nieces and nephews, also great-nieces and nephews.

    She was preceded in death by her parents James and Rita Platt, and siblings Marilyn Platt, John Platt, and Jimmy Platt.
