Bruce Pontious, age 69 of Sac City, IA, passed away at his home in Sac City on Wednesday, February 16, 2022.  Bruce was born on September 12, 1952, to parents Frank and Phyllis (Nicholson) Pontious in Sac City, IA.  He grew up in the area where he attended Sac Elementary School and graduated from Sac Community High School with the class of 1971.  After graduation, Bruce continued his education at Fort Dodge Community College.

On September 2, 1978, Bruce was united in marriage to Denise Perkins from Grimes, IA, in Des Moines, IA.  This union was blessed with two daughters, Amber and Kristi.  Bruce and Denise made their home in Long Beach, CA from 1980 to 1985 before moving to Colorado where they lived and raised their children.  Bruce managed print shops before he owned and operated his own printing business for several years. They then moved to Sac City where they retired in 2018.  He loved riding motorcycles and you could always find him riding his Harley-Davidson.  Bruce also enjoyed collecting vintage items and working in his garage.  Most of all, Bruce loved his time spent with his family, friends, and grandchildren.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Denise Pontious of Sac City, IA; children: Amber (Mike) Prohaska of Oak Grove, MO, and Kristi (John) Aragon of Sac City, IA; grandchildren: Elle, Alex, Will, Graham, and Ben Prohaska and Elias, Isaiah, Riley, and Luke Aragon; along with several nieces and nephews and friends.

Bruce was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Phyllis Pontious, sister Susan (Gary) Russell, and brother Jim Pontious.
