“My sincere condolences to the entire Mentzer family. I had the pleasure to know and work with Howard (and Keith) several times as he masterfully turned the wood for my sculptures. Howard's handiwork now sits in libraries and museums all over the world from our collaborations. He was gracious to a fault and even gave my daughter one of his beautifully carved wooden hearts when we visited him years ago. I will miss this kind and gentle man's friendship greatly.”
