Basil Haney, age 88, of Lake View, IA, passed away on Saturday, May 15, 2021, at Blackhawk Life Care Center in Lake View, IA.  Basil Lee Haney was born on June 6, 1932, to parents Virgil and Lillian (Luttrull) Haney in Converse, IN. They later moved to Columbus Junction, IA, where Basil graduated high school. After graduation, Basil enlisted to serve his country in Korea with the United States Air Force.  He earned the ranking of Airman First Class and was honorably discharged on November 11, 1956

    Basil was blessed with four children during his life, Mike, Marc, Scott, and Tod.  Along with raising his boys, Basil worked for Alcoa Aluminum Marketing for several years, retiring in 1991.  In his free time, you could find him doing crossword puzzle books, putting together puzzles, and riding his scooter by the lake.  Basil was an outgoing person and loved to talk and meet new people.  

   Those left to cherish his memory include his children: Marc (Karen) Haney of Muscatine, IA, Scott (Jennifer) Haney of Muscatine, IA, and Tod Haney of Lake View, IA; daughter-in-law Cindy Haney of Muscatine, IA; 18 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

   Basil was preceded in death by his parents; son Mike Haney; three wives; brothers Bob and Cletus; sisters Goldie, Eula, and Dorothy.
