Audrey Rose Reinhart

Audrey Reinhart, age 89, of Odebolt, passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, IA. Audrey Rose Reinhart was born May 5, 1924, in Wall Lake, IA to Alfred Henry and Bertha Wilhelmina (Ewoldt) Rabe. She attended Richland #3 country school and graduated from Odebolt High School with the class of 1942. On April 20, 1943 she married Oscar Hillman Reinhart at the Methodist Parsonage in Storm Lake, IA. Audrey and Hilly had five children: Keith Hillman, Andre Kent, Kandis Leah, Kelly Lee and Kerry Michael.

Audrey had many jobs during her lifetime. She was a cook at Colonial Manor and a waitress at The Modern Inn. Her and Hilly were also owner/operators of The Glass Tap and The Ado-Re Café in Odebolt. Audrey was a talented seamstress making several wedding dresses and a lot of her own clothing and did mending for many people. She also took great pride in being an Avon representative.

Audrey enjoyed many hobbies in her free time. She was an avid collector and was proud to show off her large collections of chickens and refrigerator magnets. In her earlier years she enjoyed traveling and camping. She also liked to play cards and enjoyed reading the newspaper everyday and completing the crossword.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Bertha Rabe; her husband, Oscar; and her brother, Marvin Rabe. She is survived by her five children: Keith and Beth Reinhart of Odebolt, Kent and Barb Reinhart of Iowa City, Kandi and Les Peters of Breda, Kelly Reinhart of Arthur, and Kerry and Deb Reinhart of Odebolt; her grandchildren: Shane Reinhart of Odebolt, Chad and Mary Reinhart of Odebolt, Aaron Reinhart of Ida Grove, Shannon and Jim Cusato of Portland, OR, Matt Reinhart of Iowa City, Crystal Reinhart of Sidney, IL, and Stephanie and Jimmy Fleenor of Ida Grove; great-grand children: Bryce and Blake Reinhart, Jordan Brungardt, Kirsten and Hailey Reinhart, Alexis Reinhart and Zoe and Sasha Cusato; she is also survived by sisters-in-law Delores Carlson and Marjorie Reinhart and cousins Marie Huff, Edmund Ewoldt, and Helen Kinney.
