Private graveside services for Gale Hansen, age 89, of Sac City, IA, will be held on January 21, 2021, at the Newell Cemetery in Newell, IA. A public visitation will be held from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 21, 2021, at the Nain Lutheran Church in Newell. Due to Covid-19, masks will be required and social distancing encouraged. The family is planning a celebration of life service at a later date.
Gale Hansen, age 89, of Sac City, IA, passed away on Monday, January 18, 2021, at Loring Hospital in Sac City, IA. Gale Elmer Hansen was born on March 9, 1931, to parents Joe and Geneva (Gosch) Hansen. He was baptized as an infant and later moved to Newell, IA in 1943.
On June 8, 1951, Gale was united in marriage to Carol Kladstrup at the Nain Lutheran Church in Newell, IA. This union was blessed with three children: Mary, Sharon, and Ray. They made their home south of Newell, where Gale farmed and cared for livestock. In 1990, they moved to Sac City, IA.
Gale loved visiting with friends and playing cards. Most of all, he loved and adored his kids and grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Carol Hansen of Sac City, IA; children: Sharon (Chuck) Rezek of Worthington, MN, and Ray (Jill) Hansen of Churdan, IA; son-in-law Fred Anderson of Norfolk, NE; grandchildren: Shane (Stacie) Anderson, Casey (Sarah) Anderson, Becky (Jason) Toso, Sara (Brent) Johnson, Joe Rezek, Jenny (Paul) Savits, Emily (Pri) Rebollozo, Kevin (Karla) Hansen, Gyena Hansen, and Sveta Hansen; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters: Norma Johnson of Storm Lake, IA, and JoAnn Saddoris of Carroll, IA; several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Gale was preceded in death by his daughter Mary Anderson, and his parents.
