   Floyd Elmer Bihrer was born on a farm west of Odebolt, IA, on July 12, 1932, to parents Clarence and Ella (Boom) Bihrer. He grew up on the farm and attended country school through eighth grade, and graduated from Sac Community High School in 1950.  After graduation, he served in the army and spent the majority of his service in Korea as a mechanic.  Floyd was discharged in October 1954 and wasted no time…he married his sweetheart, Margene Gabriel, on November 14, 1954. This union was blessed with two children, Jackie and David.

   Floyd worked for Wadsley’s Buick garage for 16 years.  He then worked for Trojan Seed Corn and then Simplot Soil Builders where he retired from in 1995.

   Floyd enjoyed riding his Honda Gold Wing and loved playing cards, especially bridge.  He and Marge spent 20 years wintering in Mesa, Arizona, where he led hikes in the mountains.  He was known for riding his bicycle everywhere.  Floyd passed away on Tuesday, December 8, 2020, at the age of 88, at Black Hawk Life Care Center in Lake View, IA. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

   Left to cherish his memory include his wife of 66 years, Marge Bihrer of Sac City, IA; daughter Jackie (Phil) Maynard of Hastings, NE; son David (Laurie) Bihrer of Sac City, IA; grandson Philip (Melanie) Maynard; and great-grandson, Parker; many extended family members and friends.

   Floyd was preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Ella Bihrer; brother Merle Bihrer; and sister Sandra Bihrer-Brown.

“Marge, Jackie and Dave and all of the Family - I am so sorry for your loss. Floyd was such a "great guy" and always made time for me when I was young and living there in the neighborhood. I could always wander up the street, a couple of houses, and sit on the porch or the front steps and have "chats" with him and Marge. He will certainly be missed by many!
