Rosella Schwaller, age 93 of Lake View, IA,  passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 3, 2020, at Black Hawk Life Care Center in Lake View. Rosella Mae Mendenhall was born on March 30, 1927, to parents Dwight and Gertrude (Niceswanger) Mendenhall in Early, IA. She attended school in Early and graduated from Crestland High School with the Class of 1945.

   On October 14, 1946, Rosella married Francis Schwaller at the United Methodist Church in Early. This union was blessed with six children: Patricia, Paula, Ron, Rosemary, Kenneth, and Scott. Sadly, Francis passed away at the young age of forty-five, leaving Rosella to raise the children alone. Once the children were older, she was able to go to work. It was then that she worked at the turkey processing plant in Storm Lake, IA.

   When Rosella wasn’t working or spending time with her family, she enjoyed working on puzzles, watching television, and sewing. She was a resident at Black Hawk Life Care Center for the past six years. Rosella was a loving mother and a very proud grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

   Left to cherish her memory include her children: Paula (David) McKenzie of Bedford, MA, Rosemary (Larry) Polk of Lake View, IA, Ron Schwaller (special friend Ruth) of Denison, IA, Ken Schwaller of Sac City, IA, Scott (Kathy) Schwaller of Storm Lake, IA; grandchildren: Kyndra Joslin, Lindsay Jacobs, Cody Schwaller, Zach Schwaller, Bill Smeeton, Melissa Schwaller, Renae Schwaller; twenty-two great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; brother Ralph Mendenhall of IN; sister-in-law Jan Cooper of Holstein, IA; many nieces, nephews, other extended family members, and friends.

   Rosella was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Schwaller; daughter Patricia Schwaller; parents Dwight and Gertrude Mendenhall; brothers and sisters: Russell (Phyllis) Mendenhall, Dick Mendenhall, Virginia DeBruyne, and Wilma (Eugene) Werner.
