Lois Kolbe, age 78 of Sac City, IA, passed away on Monday, October 12, 2020, at Park View Rehabilitation Center in Sac City. Lois Anne Biggins was born on October 20, 1941, to parents Melvin and Ruth (Mullins) Biggins in Storm Lake, IA. She and her brothers were raised in Newell, IA, where Lois graduated from Providence High School.
On April 7, 1963, Lois married Ronald Kolbe at the Storm Lake United Methodist Church. She and Ronald lived on a farm in Sac City where she helped out as needed. Over the years, the two of them enjoyed entering items in area county fairs as well as at the Iowa State Fair. Lois always enjoyed reading a good book. Lois and Ronald enjoyed their trips to Nashville and were huge country music fans and met several of their favorite performers. Later in life, she could be found
supporting Ronald as he participated in Senior Games events around the Midwest. She could also be found working on her embroidery projects in her spare time. Lois was a great cook and spent hours in the kitchen doing what she loved. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Sac City where she enjoyed participating in many activities there. She will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her brother-in-law Eldon Kolbe of Sac City, IA; nephew David (Whitney) Kolbe of Ankeny, IA; great-nephew Chase Kolbe; niece Sara Kolbe of Marshalltown, IA; great-niece Natasha Kolbe; many extended family members and friends.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Kolbe; parents Melvin and Ruth Biggins; parents-in-law Vern and Mary Kolbe; sister-in-law Phyllis Kolbe, and brothers Lyle and Keith.
