Timothy Millard, age 62 of Sac City, IA, passed away on Monday, May 11, 2020, at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home in Fort Dodge, IA, after battling cancer for several months. Timothy Dwayne Millard was born on November 30, 1957, to parents Fred and Edith (Dahrtey) Millard in Texas City, TX.  He attended grade school in Santé Fe, TX, and graduated from Santa Fe High School.

Tim met and married Erica Auen in Universal City, TX.  Together, they had three children: Chairity, Michael and Hope.  Tim worked as a machinist at Gulf Coast Maintenance. Erica tragically passed away unexpectedly at the age of 30 leaving behind Tim and children ages 5, 3 and 2 at the time. Tim and his kids later moved to Iowa where Erica was from.  He enjoyed riding motorcycles, playing his guitar and being outdoors.  He liked to go fishing and loved to garden.  In his free time, you could find him making wood carvings or target shooting. Tim was a good, kind man who raised his children well. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those left to cherish his memory include his children: Chairity, Michael and Hope Millard all of Sac City, IA; step-children: Preston, Carlton and Dorey Herbert all of Texas; step-grandchildren: Brooke and Kayla Rushing; brother Mark Millard of Sac City, IA; grandfather-in-law Herb Auen of Lake View, IA; father-in-law Randy Auen of Lake View, IA; mother-in-law Pam Leitz of Lake View, IA; many extended family members and friends.

“Tim was one of the funniest people that I’ve ever known and when the three brothers were together it got down right hilarious. Wish you kids could have witnessed that. Tim loved you with all of his heart. Take care off each other because that’s what he would want you to do. Thank you Mark for being there for your brother. I know it was a great comfort for him to have you by his side.”

“It was my joy and honor to know Tim and his family in Arcadia, Texas where his father was minister. I loved this family dearly and his mother and father had a great impact on my life. I was honored to be asked to officiate at Tim's mother and fathers Memorial Service. Tim would come with his mother to the grocery where I worked as a young boy and he helped stock the shelves. He would mark prices on the food sometimes moving the amount of the food on the machine, giving great discounts to customers, until I checked the prices. I loved the Millard Family and was so shocked to hear of Tim's death. I know he was loved by many and in the land beyond the sunset he suffers no more with a disease that had no cure. I know he is welcomed by a father and mother and brother that loved him dearly. My prayers will be with his family and they can be very proud Tim Millard was a part of their lives. God Bless. Bro. “I met Timmy in 1975, I always considered him a friend. The kindest, sweetest, funniest man I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing . I didn’t see him much through the years but when I did it was like we could talk like no time had passed. Rest easy my friend. Praying for the family and friends and my God bring you peace and love and comfort. He was one of a kind!”

“Tim Millard was the best dad I could ever ask for, he stepped up to the plate when everyone else couldn’t. Though he was my grandpa he took care of me as his own. I’ll miss him every single day. That’s a given!! A wonderful, selfless soul who could get along with anyone! He told me just days before he went to Heaven: “It’s great to live and die honorably!” Yes pawpaw, you made it to your salvation. I love you always. I will always say prayers for Chairity, Michael, and Hope. He raised some great kids. ”
