Sandra Jarvis, age 81 of Sac City, IA, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, March 25, 2020. Sandra Faye Jarvis was born on September 8, 1938, to parents Milton and Lula (Means) Scheffler in Sac City, IA. She grew up in rural Sac County and moved into Sac City in the 1940’s. She attended grade school in Sac City and graduated from Sac City High School. Sandra was baptized at the First Christian Church.
On November 17, 1956, Sandra married Verlyn Jarvis at the First Christian Church in Sac City. This union was blessed with three children, Daniel, Myrna and Julie. Together, they raised their family in Sac City. Sandra worked at Worthmore Printing, Casey's General Store and was a CNA for many years at Loring Hospital and Park View. Her and her husband also had their own business mowing lawns, raking yards and shoveling snow.
Sandra was a lifelong member of the First Christian Church in Sac City. In her free time, She enjoyed jig saw puzzles and doing word search puzzles. She also loved to cook and visit with friends at coffee.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband Verlyn Jarvis of Sac City, IA; children: Daniel Jarvis of Sac City, IA, Myrna (Michael) Lumsden of Roanoke, VA and Julie (Phillip) Howes of Sac City, IA; grandchildren: Zebadiah (Thuy) Howes, Michael (Julie) Howes and Christopher Lumsden; great-grandchildren: Kaeyleigh and Kaiden Howes; brothers: Fred (Mary) Scheffler of Sac City, IA, Eugene (Diane) Scheffler of Manson, IA and Donald (Florence) Scheffler of Boise, ID; sisters: Frances (Marv) Schettler of Storm Lake, IA and Shirley Bales of Ida Grove, IA; aunts, uncles, numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, extended family members and many friends.
Sandra was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Clifford and Robert Scheffler; sister Elsie Helmbrecht and grandson Jeremy Lee Altman.
