Joyce Mohr, age 61 of Lake View, IA, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, March 25, 2020, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, NE.

Joyce Ann Drees was born on April 25, 1958, the fourth of nine children, to parents Donald and Jane (Ortner) Drees in Carroll, IA. She grew up in Carroll where she attended St. Lawrence Elementary School. Joyce graduated from Kuemper High School with the Class of 1976. After graduating, she attended business school in Omaha, NE.

On February 10, 1984, Joyce married Robert Mohr in Carroll at St. Lawrence.  This union was blessed with two children, Nathan and Beth. Together, they raised their family in Lake View where Joyce worked at Lake View Concrete/Hancock Concrete as an accountant and dispatcher.

Joyce loved life. She enjoyed doing so many things but nothing brought her greater joy than spending time with her family. She absolutely adored her grandchildren, Cooper and Becklee, and always looked forward to helping Cooper’s baseball team. She and Bob both enjoyed going for motorcycle rides together. In her earlier years, Joyce participated in bowling league and was a pool hustler as well. Her warm smile, loving and caring ways will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. May she rest peacefully in God’s loving arms.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Bob Mohr of Lake View, IA; children: Nathan (Kelli) Mohr of Lake View, IA, and Beth Mohr of Lake View, IA; grandchildren Cooper and Becklee Mohr; parents Donald and Jane Drees of Carroll, IA; siblings: Vicki Drees of Carroll, IA, Bob (Myrna) Drees of Carroll, IA, Tom (Donna) Drees of Carroll, IA, Joe Drees of Amarillo, TX, Gayle (Rex) Mitchell of Prole, IA, Jim (Deanne) Drees of Carroll, IA, Jill (Mike) Thielen of Johnston, IA, and Dave Drees of Carroll, IA; mother-in-law Darlene Mohr of Lake View, IA; brothers-in-law Jim (Carolyn) Mohr of Auburn, IA, and Mike Mohr of Lake View, IA; sisters-in-law Linda Renze of Urbandale, IA, Gloria (John) Schulte of Lake View, IA, and Connie Broich of Windsor Heights, IA; aunts, uncles, numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, extended family members and many friends.

Joyce was preceded in death by her grandparents, Louis and Teresa Drees, and Joseph and Elizabeth Ortner; father-in-law Duane Mohr; and nephew Shawn Mitchell.

“I am so sorry and shocked to learn of Joyce’s passing. Had I know I would have been proud to be part of her funeral procession. My sympathy to the Drees family and Bob and his family as well. She was a VERY special person. She didn't know a stranger. We met at St Lawrence in 2nd grade during preparation for First Communion. She was the only one who reached out and befriended me. Like an angel, she was there. I forever hold a special place in my heart for Joyce❤️”
