Nancy Kay Neville was born on January 7, 1939, the youngest of ten children to James and Louise Neville. Her brothers consisted of Ralph, Russ, Dale, Doug, Don, Chuck, Bob and Jimmy and one sister, Yvonne. She lived in Odebolt, IA with her family until she started her own.
Nancy met Jim Nuetzman at Odebolt High School. They started dating in 1955. Jim graduated in 1956 and enlisted in the Air Force. He went through basic training while Nancy finished out her senior year. Jim was able to return home in time to watch Nancy graduate from Odebolt High School in 1957. After that, Jim served four years during the Cold War in Rothwesten, Germany as a cryptographer.
Nancy and Jim were married on July 10, 1960. They moved from Odebolt to Spencer, IA, where they raised their four beautiful daughters; Tamara, Tanya, Tangela and Tasha.
Throughout Nancy’s lifetime, she pursued a number of different careers, such as: telephone operator, homemaker, working for Merry Maids, working at Spencer Municipal Hospital and Cookies. Her other adventures entailed beautifying and refurbishing nine different homes, even fixing up Jim’s parents’ family farm, helping Jim run several successful businesses, including restaurant, laundry mat and dry cleaners and always enjoying time with her family.
Nancy also had several passions that she was lucky to fulfill. Her passions consisted of taking care of the many family pets, including her current ones: Koda, Kiara, Winston and Winnie, cooking the best food anyone had ever tasted, being able to decorate any room she walked into and making flowers bloom in the dead of winter. She was blessed with an infectious smile and the ability to make any stranger become a friend. She saw the very best in people and her kind heart welcomed them with open arms, but she wasn’t afraid to speak her mind, which just made people love her even more. She was truly one of a kind.
Nancy joined her parents and all of her brothers in heaven on February 28, 2020.
Nancy will forever be remembered by her loving husband of 59 years, Jim Nuetzman; daughters: Tammy Wachter (Scott) of Spicer, MN; Tammy’s children, Bryson Wachter (Shannon) and their son Caleb; Alyssa Smith (Josh) and their son Weston; Skylar Wachter (Dana) and their children Maya and Jase; daughter Tanya (Dan) Druivenga of Jamaica, IA and Tanya’s children, McKinsey and Boe; daughter Tangy Griffin (Tommy) of Spencer, IA and Tangy’s children, Traeyton and Khia; daughter Tasha Nuetzman-Wiese (Eric) of Storm Lake, IA, and Tasha’s children, Blake and Chase.
