Mollie Christine Hunziker, age 92 of Sac City, IA, passed away on Monday, November 25, 2019, at Park View Rehabilitation Center in Sac City, IA.  Mollie was born on November 15, 1927, in Ashley, Hampshire England the daughter of Archibald Moody and Elsie (Upward) Moody.

   Mollie served in the Women’s Royal Airforce from 1946 to 1948, and was stationed in the United Kingdom as a postal clerk. 

   Mollie came to the United States in 1951 where she met her future husband at a square dancing class during night school in Sac City. Mollie was united in marriage to Ivan Hunziker on November 15, 1953, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church rural Sac City, IA.  This union was blessed with four children. 

   As a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Mollie served in the Ladies Aid as a secretary, and taught Sunday school for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family.  Mollie met her best friend, Stella, while working at a children’s hospital in England.  Her hobbies included knitting, gardening, photography and bird watching.  She enjoyed reading, journaling, and writing long letters to her English relatives.  Mollie loved animals, especially her kitties or as she referred to them, her fur kids.

   Those left to cherish her memory include her husband Ivan Hunziker of Sac City, IA; children: Dianna Bruning of Sac City, IA, Sharon Bruscher (Terrell Hale) of Aurora, CO, Scott (Nancy) Hunziker of Auburn, IA, and Lisa (Dennis) Koss of Longmont, CO; grandchildren: Jeremy Bruning, Eric (Jessica) Hunziker, Andy (Jill) Hunziker, Jason (Ashley) Hunziker, Nathan Hunziker and Heidi Hunziker; great-grandchildren: Ethan, Jacob, Addison, Makynli, Kolbe, Avery and Brody; many extended family members and a host of friends.

   Mollie was preceded in death by her father Archibald; mother Elsie; sister Lillian Hummel; brothers: Eric Moody and Michael Moody; and nieces: Joanne LaFever and Judy Raitz.
