Ruth Elaine Boeckman passed away on Monday, November 18, 2019, at Twilight Acres Nursing Home in Wall Lake, IA. Ruth was born in Carroll, IA on May 5, 1938, the daughter of Henry and Hilaria Pick.
Ruth grew up on a farm west of Breda, IA, and graduated from St. Bernard Catholic School in Breda in 1956. On August 23, 1958, she married Raphael (Ray) Boeckman at St. Bernard Catholic Church with Father Hausman officiating. After marriage, they lived in Wall Lake where they raised their two daughters.  During her lifetime, she worked at Woolworths in Carroll, IA, at National Oats in Wall Lake and for 27 years she worked as a teacher's aide at Wall Lake Community School. 
Ruth enjoyed decorating for holidays, tending her flower garden that she took great pride in and watching the purple martins. Freezing sweet corn and making salsa was always a family event enjoyed by all.
Ruth is survived by her husband, Ray Boeckman; children: Vicki (Kirk) Thiel of Omaha, NE, Susan (Don) Wheeler of Omaha, NE; grandchildren: Matt (Becca) Thiel, Tom (Katie) Thiel, Rob Wheeler, Jeff Wheeler and Stacy (fiancé Ben Heusinkvelt) Thiel all of Omaha, NE; great-grandchildren: Hudson and Hadley Thiel, Ryan and Cole Thiel; sister Arlene Fisher of Carter Lake, IA; brothers and sisters-in-law: Morris Boeckman of Wall Lake, IA, Gene (Pat) Boeckman of Lake View, IA, Ione (Jim) Schreck of Sioux City, IA, Agnes (Wilber) Wiederin of Lake City, IA, Marie Lowe of Maple River, IA, Roni (Norm) Hanson of Carroll, IA, Pat (Louie) Haverman of Carroll, IA, Paul (Cheri) Boeckman of Boone, IA; many extended family members and friends.
Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Hilaria Pick; brothers and sisters-in-law: James Fisher, Gabe Boeckman, Jean Boeckman, Mary Sue Boeckman, Merlin Lowe, Donna Mae Boeckman, Michael Boeckman, and Joseph Boeckman.
