Helga Harker, age 84 of Sac City, IA, passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2019, at Black Hawk Life Care Center in Lake View, IA. Helga Charlotte Glueck was born on April 7, 1935, to parents Fritz and Else Glueck in Nuremburg, Germany. Helga grew up in Germany, graduated from high school there and then went on to attend trade school where she obtained her degree in business. The degree she graduated with there is equivalent to a bachelors degree here in the United States.
   Helga met a U.S. soldier by the name of Charles Harker who was stationed in Germany, with whom she was quite smitten over. In 1955, when she was just twenty years old, she moved to the United States. On March 27, 1955, Helga and Charles were united in marriage in Sac City. This union was blessed with a daughter, Renate.
   Helga worked as an abstractor for Sac County Abstract for many years until retiring at the age of 82 in 2017. She loved to travel and was an avid reader. Helga really enjoyed feeding and watching birds and was always up for taking the dogs for a walk just to be outdoors. She also loved listening to old country music. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
   Helga was preceded in death by her parents, Fritz and Else; and husband Charles. She is survived by her daughter, Renate of Sac City, IA.
