Carol May Penning, age 81, of Lake View, IA, passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at Black Hawk Life Care Center in Lake View.  Carol Neswick was born on December 15, 1937, in Sioux City, IA, to Mortin and Ann (Rolfs) Neswick.  Carol, along with her brother Charles and sister Marilyn, grew up in Sioux City where she graduated from Sioux City East.
Carol was united in marriage to James Henry Penning in Blue Mound, MN.  Together they made their home in Sioux City, IA.      Carol loved camping and fishing at the cabin in Lake Andes, SD.  Her children and grandchildren  have many fond memories of their times together.  She enjoyed sewing, baking, making her kids’ favorite meals and cakes for their birthdays, and always made sure they kept up on their chore lists.  She cherished every moment she could spend with her family.  She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her children: Deborah Plum of Cedar Falls, IA, Linda (Tom) Hartley of Wagner, SD, Cindy Penning of Rapid City, SD, Jane Williams of Sac City, IA, Christine Tschumper of Huron, SD, Heidi (Jerome) Powers of Wagner, SD, Cheryl Penning of Fort Dodge, IA, Connie Onakoya of Waterloo, IA, and Shane Penning of Sioux City, IA; her son-in-law Todd Vogt of Armour, SD; 36 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; her brother Charles (Penny) Neswick of Sioux City, IA; many extended family members and friends.
