   Rowene Brotherson was born on May 11, 1929 on the family farm in Breda, Iowa.  She was the youngest of eight children born to George & Jessie Brotherson.  She had 6 brothers, Harold, Marvin, Loyal, Irving, Kenneth, & Eugene and 1 sister, Genevieve Stark; all preceded her in death.  Ro graduated from Wall Lake High School in 1947 and after receiving a teaching certificate taught country school for two years.  She then moved to Omaha and married Robert Fike Schoneboom.  They had three children; Debra, Bruce & Bart.  Rowene worked for Western Electric in Omaha and Denver, Colorado.  After retiring she moved to Las Vegas, Nevada where she has lived the last 29 years.

 

   Rowene is survived by her daughter Debra (Robert) Schwertley of Omaha, NE., sons Bruce Schoneboom of Phoenix, Arizona and Bart Schoneboom of Las Vegas, Nevada.  Grandchildren, Nicole (Jered) Clark of Omaha, NE, Lindsey (Darren) Starks of Portland, Oregon, & Brett Schwertley of Las Vegas, NV; great-grandchildren, Nolan, Brendan, Kaylan & Megan Clark, Omaha, NE, Parker Starks, Portland, Oregon & grand dogs, Big George of Las Vegas and Napoleon of Portland.  Also survived by several nieces & nephews and good friends from Iowa, Nebraska, Colorado & Nevada.
