William Martinas Duncan, age 84, of Sac City, IA, passed away on Monday, March 18, 2019, at Park View Rehabilitation Center in Sac City. Bill was born on November 5, 1934, on the Duncan homestead in Pottawattamie County, IA, to Charles and Mame (Skakson) Duncan. The family moved to Sac City where he graduated from Sac City High School with the Class of 1954.
In January 1957, Bill was inducted into the United States Army serving his country in the 6th Infantry for two years, earning the rank of E2 Private.
Bill was united in marriage to Beverly Carol Lewis on September 20, 1959, at the First Christian Church in Sac City. This union was blessed with two children, David and Donna. He was an active member of the First Christian Church serving as a Trustee, helping with maintenance issues, and working in the kitchen during holiday dinners.
Bill was an electrician in Sac City for many years. He enjoyed home improvement projects, gardening, and fishing and camping trips with Bev to the Iowa Great Lakes. Spending time with his family and grandchildren was always very special for him. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his son David (Lisa) Duncan of Tulsa, OK; daughter Donna (Tom) Keesling of Oskaloosa, IA; three grandchildren: Alex (Jamie) Duncan, Amanda and Brandon Keesling; brother Don Duncan of Rockwell City, IA; sister Ellen Bauer of Humboldt, IA; many extended family members and friends.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; wife Bev on July 7, 2018; brothers: Glen Duncan and Gene Duncan; sisters: JoAnna Krause, Shirley Willcut, and Virginia Mandernach.
