Edward “Fred” Clarence Werkmeister, age 62, of Jolly, IA, passed away on Monday, February 25, 2019, at UnityPoint Health-St. Lukes Hospital, Sioux City, IA. Ed was born on February 13, 1957, the son of Donald and Shirley (Roth) Werkmeister in Manning, IA. In his youth he was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Ed grew up in Wall Lake, IA, and graduated from Wall Lake High School.
When he was younger he mowed lawns and worked at Wall Lake Used Parts. He lived a quiet, private lifestyle and enjoyed tinkering on cars and motorcycles. Ed especially enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He drove truck for various people including: Raymond Freese, Arcadia Limestone and other road construction companies.
Survivors include his children: Ann (Mike Bauer) Terlisner of Manning, IA, Troy (Lindsay Simon) Werkmeister of Sutherland, IA, Jessica (Scott Forby) Kramer of Wilmar, MN, and Bryson Kramer of Lake View, IA; four grandchildren: Kayla and Matthew Terlisner, and Ian and Owen Werkmeister; sisters: Candace Ehrp of Schaller, IA, Kathy (Richard) Baumhover, Wall Lake, IA, Kristie Garrels of Ankeny, IA, and Lisa (Julius “Juke”) Pudenz of Lake View, IA; many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Shirley Werkmeister; grandparents: Edward and Bertha Werkmeister, and Clarence and Maggie Roth; and brother-in-law Steven Garrels.
