Darrin Boger, age 50, of Wall Lake, IA, passed away after his 2 ½ year long battle with cancer, on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll, IA. Darrin was born on April 25, 1968, in Denison, IA, to parents Harry and Barbara (Sturtevant) Boger. He grew up in Denison where he attended school and graduated from Denison High School in 1986. Darrin was inducted into the United States Marine Corps and was stationed in Guam. After his honorable discharge on Sept. 22, 1990, he was recalled to deploy to Desert Storm.
On July 10, 2005, Darrin was united in marriage to Heather Luchtel in Odebolt, IA. This union was blessed with two daughters: Davanee and Aleeya. They later divorced. Darrin bought Lake Lanes in 1996. He owned and operated it for 22 years until present day where he earned his reputation as “the fun guy”. He also worked at Evapco in Lake View. Darrin enjoyed bowling, watching the Chicago Bears and LA. Dodgers. He will be remembered for his sarcasm and sense of humor. Darrin loved spending time with his girls and took pride in his family. He was a devoted father and grandfather and will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him.
Survivors left to cherish Darrin’s memory include his daughters: Davanee Patryce Boger, Aleeya Barbara Boger and Kianna (Chris) Snyder; granddaughter Stella Snyder; brothers: Dennis (Karen) Boger of Dallas Center, IA, Delaine Boger of Wall Lake, IA, and Donivan Boger (special friend Bobbie McFarland) of Sioux City, IA; other extended family members and friends.
Darrin was preceded in death by his parents Harry and Barbara; and sister-in-law Cindy Boger.
