Mary Ann Siebrecht, age 88, of Odebolt, IA, passed away on Saturday, February 16, 2019, at Odebolt Specialty Care in Odebolt, IA. Mary Ann was born on May 1, 1930, on the farm in Odebolt, IA, to Edward and Mary (Gonnerman) Godbersen.. She grew up in Odebolt, where she attended grade school and graduated from Odebolt High School in 1947.
On August 27, 1948, Mary Ann was united in marriage to Lyle William Siebrecht at the First Presbyterian Church in Odebolt. They were blessed with four children: Ruth Ann, Keith, Gary, and Dale. They made their home on the farm where Mary Ann helped out where ever she was needed. Mary Ann was a lifetime member of the First Presbyterian Church in Odebolt where she was the superintendent, taught Sunday school and was a part of many committees. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for 68 years.
Mary Ann enjoyed her flower and vegetable gardens and canning all of her produce. She was a talented seamstress and made lots of clothing and stuffed animals for friends and family. Mary Ann will always be remembered for her amazing cooking and baking. She was known for her cinnamon rolls, pecan rolls, and potato salad. She also took the time to bake and decorate all of the grandchildren’s birthday cakes. Mary Ann was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend and will be missed by all those who loved her.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Ruth Ann Mohr of Odebolt, IA, Keith (Jill) Siebrecht of Odebolt, IA, Gary (Karen) Siebrecht of Odebolt, IA, Dale (Lisa) Siebrecht of Curlew, IA; grandchildren: Darin (Tiffany) Mohr of Odebolt, IA, Britt Siebrecht of Odebolt, IA, Marc (Jennifer) Siebrecht of Cottleville, MO, Eric (Kaylee) Siebrecht of Colfax, IA, Nathan (Amy) Siebrecht of Oronoco, MN, Lee (Sena Brotherson) Siebrecht of Odebolt, IA, Leah (Mark) Sexton of Milford, IA; great-grandchildren: Addison and Alaina Mohr, Maverick Siebrecht, Jace, Eden and Sayla Siebrecht, Lena and Collins Siebrecht, Kylar Siebrecht and Camryn and Terry Sexton; sister-in-law Fernetta Siebrecht of Storm Lake, IA; and other extended family members and friends.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents; husband Lyle; grandson Clint Siebrecht; son-in-law Dale Mohr; infant brother William; brother Harold; sisters: Matilda Ziegmann, Edna Peterson, Marjorie Thayer, Eleanor Peterson, Helen Mentzer, and Mildred Hartsell.
