Duane Thomas Huster “D.T.”, age 75 of Sac City, IA, passed away on Monday, February 4, 2019, in Omaha, NE, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
D.T. was born on June 5, 1943, in Carroll, IA, to parents Thomas and Betty Huster. He graduated from Lytton High School and shortly after, enlisted in the United States Army. He proudly served his country and was later honorably discharged. D.T. was united in marriage to Joyce Smith on November 30, 1991, at the First Christian Church in Sac City.
D.T. worked as a fuel salesperson for Farm Service, Grow Mark and Star Energy. After his retirement and in most recent years, he drove the school bus for East Sac County. D. T. had lots of hobbies, you could find him participating in tractor pulls, farming and doing lots of home improvements. He enjoyed watching college football and was an avid golfer. D.T. was an active member of the Occidental Lodge in Sac City and a life time member of the First Christian Church. He enjoyed life, family members, many friends and was especially proud to become a grandfather to his two grandchildren. He was honest, caring, generous and hardworking and will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Betty Huster and brother Walter.
D.T. is survived by his wife, Joyce of Sac City, IA; daughter Kristin Huster-Young of CA; step-daughters: Jennifer (Mark) Wyatt of Iowa City, IA, Erin (Greg) Bowers of Omaha, NE, Meghan (Andrew) Peters of Columbus, OH; grandchildren: Emmerson and Ashlin Peters; brother Ed (Shirley) Huster of Sac City, IA; sister Ellen Jandebeur of Clear Lake, IA.
IN LIEU OF FLOWERS the family has requested that memorial donations be directed to the First Christian Church in D.T.'s memory.
