Robert King, age 67 of Sac City, IA, passed away at his home on Sunday, October 7, 2018. Robert Scott King was born on March 2, 1951, to parents Robert and Twyla (Larson) King in Sac City. He was baptized and confirmed at the United Methodist Church in Sac City. Bob grew up and attended school in Sac City, graduating with the Sac City High School class of 1969.
After graduating, Bob attended college for awhile and then joined the United States Army in 1971. While serving, he spent time overseas in Germany. He was honorably discharged on June 25, 1974.
Once back home in Iowa, Bob went on to work for DCS Sanitation in Storm Lake, IA. This job took him to several states where he and his crew would clean packing plants. When not working, Bob enjoyed many things. His family was at the very top of that list. He especially loved spending time with his daughter, Lisa, her husband Steve, and grandchildren Alexis, Brielle, and Olivia, who were the light of his life! He loved to go hunting, especially for dove and pheasant, with his nephew Taylor. Bob liked to travel almost as much as he liked watching his favorite sports teams play…Go Cowboys! Go Red Sox! He also had a love for cars, especially the fast kind. Watching Nascar was also a favorite pastime of his.
In 2011, Bob moved back to his hometown of Sac City to care for his mother, with whom he was very close to. He enjoyed spoiling her any chance he could get. He cherished the time he got to spend with his family. Bob “Grampi” will be dearly missed by all of his family and friends that knew and loved him.
