Dave Bennett, age 71 of Sac City, IA, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Thursday, September 20, 2018. David Forrest Bennett was born on September 16, 1947, to parents Alvin Wesley and Margaret (Wayman) Bush in Sioux City, IA.
Dave grew up and attended school in Sioux City, IA. On November 20, 1987, he married the love of his life, Jane Rench, in Storm Lake, IA. He loved his family dearly and cherished every moment spent with them, especially all of his grandchildren.
For most of his life, Dave worked construction until retiring in 2004. He loved to go fishing, always hoping to bring home the big one! Playing cards with friends and family was another thing Dave enjoyed, it always brought a smile to his face.
He will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Jane Bennett of Sac City, IA; daughters Michelle (BJ) Tate of Sac City, IA, and Mary Kay Bennett of Sioux City, IA; son Jon (Janelle) Rench of Waterloo, IA; brothers Alvin (Peg) Bush of Sioux City, IA, and Arnold (Lori) Bush of Sioux City, IA; sisters Marchell (Randy) Eick of Johnson City, TN, Sandra Rivera of Sioux City, IA, and Mona (Oscar) Grimaldo of Sioux City, IA; grandchildren Rebecca (Germaine) Murphy, Shannon (Casey) Marsh, Jeff (Jess) Rench, Matt (Alex) Rench, Alyssa (Lucas) Ernsbarger, Cody (Amanda) Menke, Kyle Menke, Aaliyah Clousing, Brianna Tate, Tristyn Tate, Jazmine, Jozlynn, Ashley, and Shae Harper; great grandchildren Kylee, Melodee, Easton, Brayden, Aubrey, Carter, Berkley, Weston, Kaneyn, Kinnick, Kobyn, and Piper; many extended family members and friends.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Beverly Joann Bennett and Cecelia Comberos, brother Frank Bush, parents-in-law Melvina and Bud Choppy Rench, and brothers-in-law DeLoss Rench, Bill Rench, and Gene Martin.
