Edward Steinkamp, age 91 of Wall Lake, IA, passed away on Thursday, September 13, 2018, at Twilight Acres in Wall Lake, IA. Eddie was born on November 23, 1926, to parents Theodore and Julia (Derner) Steinkamp at their home in Breda, IA.
On April 19, 1949, Eddie was united in marriage to the love of his life, Marjorie Wittrock at the Holy Angels Catholic Church in Roselle, IA. This union was blessed with ten children: Larry, Kenny, David, Tom, Bob, Randy, Rick, Marilyn, Mary Lou and Ronald. Eddie and Marge had 64 wonderful years together before her passing in 2013.
Eddie took great pride in being a farmer. He enjoyed his farm chores like milking cows and raising hogs. On Sundays, you could find him driving the country side. Eddie was a hard working man who enjoyed spending time with his family and watching his grandchildren grow. He will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish his memory include his children: Larry (Peggy) Steinkamp of Lake View, IA, and their children: Chad, Chris and Carin Bejarno; Kenny (Janet) Steinkamp of Auburn, IA, and their children: Jeff, Erin Baumann, Lindsay Kavanaugh and Greg; Tom ( Cindy) Steinkamp of Spencer, IA, and their children: Tyler, Cody and Ryan; Bob (Kim) Steinkamp of Primghar, IA, and their children: Justin and Rachel Miner; Randy (Lynette) Steinkamp of Fort Dodge, IA, and their daughter Rylie; Rick (Sara) Steinkamp of Wall Lake, IA, and their children: Austin, Brittany and Carissa; and Marilyn (Michael) Kuchar of La Plata, MD, and their children: Cassie Perrie and Alex; and 18 great-grandchildren. Other survivors include his sisters-in-law: Dorothy Berger, Bernice Steinkamp, Velma Tigges, Catherine Wittrock and Berniece Wittrock; brothers-in-law: Ron Wittrock and Merlie Wittrock; and many other extended family members and friends.
Eddie was preceded in death by his wife Marjorie; sons Ronald and David; daughter Mary Lou Halbur; parents; brother Paul Steinkamp; sister Irma Potthoff; brothers-in-law: Alvin Berger, Walt Tigges, Norbert Potthoff, Clarence Wittrock, Charles Wittrock, Alfred Wittrock and Jerry Wittrock; sisters-in-law Jannette Wittrock and Arlene Wittrock; grandchildren: Kyle Halbur and Nicholas Steinkamp.
