Norma Meister, age 88, of Wall Lake, IA, passed away on Friday, August 24, 2018, at Stewart Memorial Community Hospital in Lake City, IA. Norma Jean Weinbrandt was born on February 23, 1930, to parents Christian and Anna (Walter) Weinbrandt in Kiron, IA. Norma grew up on a farm near Kiron, IA, and attended country school in Crawford County.

On June 8, 1963, Norma married the love of her life, Orville Meister, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wall Lake. This union was blessed with two children, Mark and Michele. Prior to marriage Norma worked at Montgomery Ward in Denison, IA. She would later work as a cook for the Wall Lake Community School District. She held this position for many years.

Norma was good at many things, cooking and baking ranking quite high on the list. Family and friends always looked forward to the homemade candies she would hand out at Christmastime. She loved her role as grandma. Her grandchildren always found her home a comfortable place to visit. They all equally enjoyed their time together, especially when it was time spent playing at the city park in Wall Lake, memories to be treasured, for sure. Norma also enjoyed sewing, quilting and crafting in her free time. She served as a member of the ladies guild at St. Joseph Catholic Church where she and her husband were members.

Norma was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She will be dearly missed by all of her immediate and extended family members and friends.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children Mark Meister of Wall Lake, IA, and Michele (Anthony) Fakeri of Kansas City, MO; grandchildren Nick Meister of Auburn, IA, Ariana Fakeri of Kansas City, MO, and Noah Fakeri of Kansas City, MO; sister-in-law Lorraine Weinbrandt of Denison, IA; many extended family members and friends.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents Christian and Anna Weinbrandt; husband Orville Meister; siblings Donald (Maxine) Weinbrandt, Roger Weinbrandt, Joan (Richard) Moeller,  and Gerald (Linda) Weinbrandt.
