Darlene Kathryn (Schoneboom) Mohr was born on January 16, 1932, to Fike and Minnie Schoneboom.  She passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2021, at 89 years of age.
She graduated from Sac City Community School in 1950.
Darlene was married for 55 years to Duane Mohr from May 28, 1950, until his death in 2005. Together, they were blessed with 6 children: Jim, Mike, Linda, Gloria, Bob, and Connie. Much of their married life was spent living and working on a dairy farm east of Lake View, where Darlene and Duane were also members of Emmanuel Lutheran church for many years.
Duane and Darlene enjoyed traveling and often recalled their favorite trips to Nashville and Arizona.
Darlene was always willing to lend a helping hand and served as a caregiver for many throughout the years.
Known for her quilt making, Darlene embroidered a personalized quilt for each grandchild, great-grandchild, and great-great-grandchild. Nearly all blankets are still accounted for and used, even by the adult children.
With the help of her son Mike, Darlene canned enough tomatoes and tomato juice every year to keep all 6 kids well supplied. At Christmas time, she also gave each family a tray of her homemade cookies and candy.
Above all, Darlene enjoyed the company of family and friends. All were welcome in her home, where she loved to visit and play cards. She was proud of her family and cherished every moment she spent with them. She has been a confidante to many nieces and nephews as well as to her own children.
Darlene held different jobs throughout the years in addition to working on the farm. Most notably she worked at Stock Popcorn Company in Lake View and Mohr's Farm Market in Auburn.  She was a staple at the Farm Market after working for many years until her health required her to retire in 2015.
Left to share her memory are her six children and their spouses: Jim (Carolyn) Mohr, Mike Mohr, Linda Renze, Gloria  (John) Schulte, Bob Mohr, and Connie Broich. Twelve grandchildren: Tim Mohr; Lisa (Nick) Duckett; Michael, Andrea, and Andrew Mohr; Sara (Bill) Riley; Jodi Essex; Emily (Travis) Crouch; Anna (Wes) Kisting; Jake (Amanda) Schulte; Nathan (Kelli) Mohr; and Beth Mohr. Fifteen great-grandchildren: Kayla (Brennen) Thompson; Erica Birkey; Derek and Wyatt Riley; Kael Ternes and Tomlyn Essex; Theo and Georgia Crouch; Isabella, Evelyn, and Charlotte Kisting; Cooper and Becklee Mohr; and Riley and Dakota Mohr. One great-great-grandson, Marcus Thompson. Also living are her sister Mairlys (Ed) Rehm; in-laws Eunice (Carmen) Catania, and Dennis (Carla) Hallberg; many nieces, nephews, and friends too numerous to count.
Those preceding her in death are her husband, Duane; parents Fike and Minnie; stepfather Richard Christian; brothers and wives: Virgil (Francis) Meyer, Orville (Mavis) Meyer, and Henry (Bud) (Darlene) Meyer; daughter-in-law Joyce Mohr; stepbrother Eugene Christian; parents-in-law Myrtle Hallberg, Albert and Minnie Mohr; in-laws: Marcele (Russ) Reetz, Melvin (June) Mohr, Carol  (Art) Murman; Bob Howell, a friend with whom she spent a lot of time having fun and sharing shenanigans later in her life, also preceded her in death.

“To Darlene's family: I am Carol (Hallberg) and Art Murman's daughter, Ellyn. I am the oldest grandchild of Myrtle Hallberg, I only met your mom a few times after your dad found his birth mom, my grandma Myrtle. After my dad died in 2007, Darlene was so nice to visit and call my mom. My mom didn't drive and went into a nursing home 4 years after my dad died. I wish we could have known about your family earlier, as I know my mom and yours would have been very good friends. I am sorry for your loss, she was a sweet lady. My uncle Dennis didn't notify us about her passing., so I am thankful that the notice of her death was in the Messenger. Sincerely, Ellyn Lemke”

“So many great memories of my Aunt Dar. Spending a week each summer on the farm with her always busy as a bee but always happy and loving. She would prepare dinner for all the men working together (neighbors helping neighbors) and put on a feast like it was nothing. Her laughter and presence at the monthly family birthdays celebrations is another standout. Weekends camping watching her and my Mom share stories and make good times for us. Her making my first born a hand sewn quilt also unforgettable. So many things that made my Aunt Dar someone who I very much loved and was so important in my life. Prayers and sympathy to all her kids and to my parents. ”
