Inez Morrill, age 98 of West Des Moines, formerly of Sac City, passed away on Wednesday, December 27, 2017, at Fountain West Healthcare Center in West Des Moines, IA. Inez Marie Caroline Morrill was born on December 29, 1918, to parents John and Hannah Anderson. She was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith. Inez attended school in Creston, Iowa.
On September 27, 1948, Inez was married to F.B. Morrill “Barney” in Creston, IA. This union was blessed with two children: Michael and Linnea. The family made their home in Sac City, Iowa.
Inez was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Sac City and was a member of the choir for many years. She was very faith driven and lived through the Lord. Inez and her husband Barney loved to travel and were blessed with the opportunity to travel the world. Inez visited Sweden multiple times but her favorite trip was to the Holy Land. After her husband passed away, Inez was one of the first women to join the Men’s Lions Club. She was also a member of several bridge clubs, and the 500 Club. Inez loved to entertain and enjoyed cooking and baking in her spare time. She will always be famous for her chocolate cake.
Inez was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter Linnea Morris of Urbandale, IA; daughter-in-law Vicki Morrill of North Las Vegas, NV; grandchild Brooke (Steve) Wickett of North Las Vegas, NV; great-grandchildren: Avery, Carlee, Jamesen and Elijah Wickett.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Barney and son Michael.
Memorials will be directed to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
