Patricia Ann Auen, age 77, of Wall Lake, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2017, at Twilight Acres in Wall Lake. Patricia Ann Fowler was born on January 23, 1940, to Keith and Neva (Foley) Fowler in Rockwell City, IA. Patricia attended school in Lake View, IA. On January 7, 1959, she married Lawrence Auen in Jackson , MN. Patricia joined the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Lake View after being baptized in 2000. She served as a member of the Ladies Aid and also helped the church run their stand during the Lake View Water Carnival.

Patricia worked at a café in Sac City for about a year and  worked part-time at the popcorn plant for a few years, but her favorite job was being a homemaker/housekeeper. Lawrence always had something for her to do to keep her busy and she liked that.

While most of her life was lived in Iowa, Patricia and Lawrence did spend about 4 years living in Oregon. She enjoyed many things, one being the monthly supper outings she and Lawrence would go on with their close friends. She loved animals, flowers, gardening, watching movies, and really enjoyed watching hummingbirds fly around from flower to flower. She collected many knick-knacks over the years and always had fun adding to that collection. Every summer Patricia traveled to Florida with a group of her classmates. A great time was sure to be had as well as many memories made. Patricia was a wonderful aunt to so many nieces and nephews, she treasured each and every one of them. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her husband, Lawrence; nieces and nephews: James (Megan) Remmick of Castana, IA, Sharon (David, Sr.) Hoffard of Sac City, IA, Richard Remmick of Sac City, IA, Alan (Carol) Remmick of Spencer, IA, Christopher Auen of Ramsey, MN, Rhian Auen of Elk River, MN, Thomas Auen of Pocatello, ID, Gabriel (Celia) Auen of Portland, OR, Charlene Green of Omaha, NE, Pam King of Carroll, IA, Stewart Green of Kansas City, MO, Connie (Patrick) Radke of Omaha, NE, Jessica (Bryan) Dore of Austin, TX, Megan (Jeff) Garfield of Omaha, NE, Rachel Galloway of Omaha, NE, Renee Nichols of Boulder, CO, Marie Wehde of Chicago, IL, Steven Wehde of Chicago, IL, and Mark Wehde of Chicago, IL; many great nieces and nephews as well as great-great nieces and nephews; brothers-in-law: Ronald Auen of Kansas City, MO, Larry (Mary) Auen of Pocatello, ID, and Gary (Julie)  Auen of Fayetteville, NC; sisters-in-law: Sandy Rench of Omaha, NE, Peggy Auen of Omaha, NE, and Debbie Auen of Omaha, NE; special friend Cindy Remmick and many extended family members and friends.

“Patty was one of the most faithful members of the LVHS class of 1959. We could always count on her to be at the alumni dinner and any gathering of our class members. The women of the class got together regularly ; she never missed being with us and sharing Lake View stories. We will miss her greatly and send our love and sympathy to Lawrence.”
