“Alice was a special and gracious woman. She and my mom were best friends while I was growing up and during that time she inspired and supported me as my teacher. She provided constant encouragement to me during my career in education. Her thirst for learning and her ability to share that with her students is an inspiring legacy.”

“Joan, Ann, Judy and Family,
So very sorry to learn of Alice's passing. As you know, she had been a close family friend as far back as I can remember. I will never forget all of the "4 Family" Christmases we had during the '60's and '70's. Alice was truly a classy lady and a wonderful individual. She will be missed by so many.
My thoughts and prayers are with you. My deepest condolences to you all.”

“My sincere condolences to the Hemphill family. I was the foreign exchange student living with the Gronemeyers the 1970-1971 school year in Odebolt. Alice, Mom Marge and I also took a trip to the eastern USA during my stay there and visited Joan during that trip. Alice was a wonderful person and teacher. You are in my prayers.”

“Joan & Ann: Our families have been close from preschool through high school (which included what your mother taught me plus what Butch & I never told our mothers), college, the Odebolt Coop and library board. What our family will remember most is what a dear and cherished friend Alice was to our mother, Elaine, in our mother's later years.
