Claudia Hauser, age 87 of Lake View, IA, passed away on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at UnityPoint Health-St. Luke’s Downtown in Sioux City, IA, due to complications of surgery.
Claudia was born on July 3, 1938, in Sac City, IA, to parents Percy and Florence (Adams) McClintock. She attended school in Sac City and graduated from Sac City High School with the class of 1956. She enjoyed learning, reading many books and watching educational shows on television. She also liked to stay up to date on world news and political issues.
On February 23, 1957, Claudia was united in marriage to Dale Hauser at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wall Lake, IA. They were blessed with three children: Larry, Diane, and Tony. The couple lived on a farm north of Lake View and later built a new home on Perkins Avenue in 1968 where her son Larry continues the farming operation they started.
Claudia was a devoted farm wife and worked side by side with her husband. In the early years of their marriage, she helped work cattle, hogs and had laying hens along with row crops. She tended to a large vegetable garden every year and enjoyed canning and freezing the harvest. Freezing sweet corn has become a yearly tradition with her recipe. After moving off the farm, she continued to help her sons with the farm operations and granddaughters with the garden. She took pride in her yard work and enjoyed tending to her flowers. Claudia was never afraid of hard work and getting her hands dirty.
Claudia and Dale spent several winters in Arcadia, FL, before Dale’s health prevented them from traveling. They enjoyed going to casinos and flea markets; Claudia couldn’t resist a good bargain. Throughout her life, she was a devoted caregiver, lovingly caring for her parents in their later years and also her husband.
Being a Grandma meant the world to Claudia. The times that she cared for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were always cherished. Her children were lucky to have her close by to help raise her grandchildren in their early years. Later on, she had a special relationship with her granddaughters Abby and Ashly Hauser that lived close by who helped keep her at home.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Larry (Karry) Hauser of Lake View, IA, Diane (Bryon) Kirby of Jefferson, IA, and Tony (Chris) Hauser of Ida Grove, IA; grandchildren Abby and Ashly Hauser, Amanda (Ben) Kennedy and Justin Kirby, Alex (Halle Hemer), Kylie, and Tori Hauser, Colton Ewoldt and Chloe Pridie; great-grandchildren Harvey and Maverick Kennedy and baby girl Hauser arriving soon; brother Greg (Wanda) McClintock of Tucson, AZ; sisters-in-law Mary Jo Hauser of Milan, MO, and Joyce McClintok of Garner, IA; and many other extended family members and friends.
Claudia was preceded in death by her husband Dale Hauser; parents Percy and Florence McClintock; brother Monte McClintock; brother-in-law Ken (Joretta) Hauser; and niece Cynthia Hauser.
God granted Claudia good health and mobility right up until her last week of her life. A private graveside service at Oakland Cemetery in Sac City will be held per Claudia’s wishes. Farber & Otteman Funeral Home of Lake View has been entrusted to care for Claudia and her family.
