Patricia Jean Oldnettle, 89, passed away peacefully on November 13, 2024, after battling dementia, at her home at Brookdale in Fort Walton Beach, FL. Pat was born on August 19, 1935, in Carroll, Iowa to Eugene and Louise McGonigle. She graduated from Odebolt High School in 1953. Upon graduating, Pat married her high school sweetheart, Eldon F. Oldnettle, and the two embarked on a beautiful journey together.
Pat was a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Pat and Eldon had four sons and moved countless times due to Eldon’s industrious Air Force career. Pat made a house a home in each place they lived: California, Massachusetts, Wisconsin, Alabama, Illinois, Ohio, and Florida, just to name a few. Pat was known for her goodness, wry smile, and wit; interactions with her usually ended in smiles and laughs. When visiting Pat, a person could expect a home-cooked meal, a story, and the kisses of a dog or cat. Her passion for her home, family, and pets was apparent and will be greatly missed.
Pat was a devoted spouse and parent, always putting her family first and cherishing every moment spent with them. She was an active grandmother and took an interest in helping and supporting her grandchildren with their various activities. She loved babies and took great joy in meeting her great-grandchildren. Pat is survived by her four sons: Jeff, Mitch, Chris, and Clark; her daughters-in-law: Diane, Michele, and Heather; her grandchildren: Scott, Stephanie, Hailey, Aidan, Christina, Carson, Allison, Farin, and Abigail; and her great-grandchildren: Levi, Ahren, and Violet.
Funeral services were held on November 30, 2024 at 1pm at the Emerald Coast Funeral Home in Fort Walton Beach, Florida.
