Norma Hoeg, age 91 of Lake View, IA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at Journey Senior Services in Carroll, IA. Norma Jean Stock was born on a farm west of Lake View on November 6, 1932 to parents Raymond and Etta (Meyer) Stock. She was baptized and confirmed at the Peace Lutheran Church in Wall Lake. She attended Clinton #7 country school until the 8th grade and graduated from Lake View High School with the class of 1950.
On July 11, 1952, Norma was united in marriage to Graham R. Hoeg at the Peace Lutheran Church in Wall Lake. They were blessed with two children, Rachael and Michael.
After graduating from high school, Norma was employed as a bookkeeper at Hy-Pop Popcorn in Sac City. She then worked at Kettering Insurance in Lake View. After taking time off to raise her children, she began working part-time at Farmers State Bank in Lake View, taking full-time employment in 1964. After more than 36 years of employment at the bank, she retired in January of 2000, having attained the position of Vice-President and head cashier.
Besides work, Norma was dedicated to her church and her community. She held many positions at the First Congregational United Church of Christ including treasurer and moderator. She was the Wall Lake Township clerk for over 30 years.
Most important to Norma was her family and spending time with them. Her hands were always busy, be it playing her organ, doing handiwork, or baking tasty treats. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
