Allan Remmick, age 66 of Auburn, IA, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 10, 2024, at home surrounded by his family. Allan Dale Remmick was born on December 29, 1957, to parents Elvin and Leanne (Fowler) Remmick in Manning, IA. He grew up in the Lake View area along with his three siblings and was baptized at Emmanuel Lutheran Church.
In 1976, Allan married Brenda Graffunder and had two children, Emily and Eric. They later divorced. Allan worked as a welder for Hanson Silo in Lake View and later in Minnesota. In 1982, Allan met Carol (Hoffard) Kading. He quickly filled the shoes of ‘Dad’ to her three children, Angie, Aaron, and Shelly. Eight years later, the two were married.
Allan and Carol made their home in Sac City for many years while he worked at Sunwise. They then moved to Spencer, IA, for twenty years before moving back this way and settling in Auburn. Together they enjoyed camping and fishing, from when all of the kids were little onto later in their lives. Allan loved being outside especially if it meant to hunt or fish. He raced on an oval track for a lot of years, primarily in Alta, IA, and absolutely loved it! He also enjoyed watching the races on TV and cheered for Jeff Gordon.
Allan was a man of humor. He did what he could to get people going and loved seeing people laugh/smile. He adored his kids, especially his grandkids, and always looked forward to seeing them. He will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew and loved him.
He leaves behind his wife, Carol Remmick of Auburn, IA; children Emily (Jim) Dankel of Fort Dodge, IA, Eric Remmick of TX, Angie Lambert of Fort Dodge, IA, Aaron (Angela) Kading of Sac City, IA, and Shelly Petersen (Fiance Colin Neuhalfen) of Carol, NE; grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Sierra, Payton, Faith, Braden, Bella, Kayden, Hunter, Trynity, Paisley, Bianca, Hallie, and Carter; great-grandchildren: Kira, Jax, Addi, and Grayson; siblings Rick Remmick of Sac City, IA, Sharon Hoffard of Sac City, IA, and Jim Remmick of Onawa, IA; brothers-in-law James Hoffard of Sac City, IA, and Kenny (Colleen) Hoffard of Spencer, IA; sister-in-law Connie (Merlin) Just of Winterset, IA; many nieces, nephews, other extended family members and friends.
Allan was preceded in death by his parents, Elvin and Leanne Remmick; granddaughter Carlee Lambert; maternal grandma Neva Fowler; paternal grandparents Elvin and Adalain Remmick; aunt Patty Auen; parents-in-law James and Janice Hoffard; and brother-in-law David Hoffard.

“Carol, and family, I send my condolences for your loss of Allan. Although I didn't know him, I remember you. We were in the same class in school from kindergarten through 12 grade. We were nextdoor neighbors when you lived in Early. We would spend summers playing together with Ann Hanke when we were all in grade school. It's been many years since we have seen each other but I remember you and wanted to reach out to you at this time of sorrow for your family. ”
