Steve Davenport, age 74, of Denison, IA, formerly of Sioux City and Lake View, IA, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2021, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, NE.

Steve was born Sept. 11, 1946, in Sac City, the son of William L. and Geraldine “Jeri” nee Weber Davenport.  He lived in Sioux City for many years where he was employed at Bishop’s Restaurant and Goodwill Industries. In recent years, he was at Wesco Industries.

Steve had a keen interest in nature and was able to identify any plant or tree species.  He made friends very easily and he enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, tractors, paint by numbers, and good food.

He will be dearly missed by his sister Susan Darrow of Bowling Green, OH; brothers Donavon (Shirley) Davenport of Ida Grove, IA, and Jack (Lisa) Davenport of Barrington, IL; loving  nieces and nephews, Anne (Ned) Clark, Paul (Tonya) Sauer, Thomas (Sarah) Darrow, Nicholas (Kristin), Greg (Romie Martinez), Travis (Ashley), Sarah (David) Larson, Grace, Rose, and Anne Davenport; and many loving great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins,

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Jeri, a brother Arthur and stepfather Harry Boger.
