Bob Scheffler, age 66, of Sac City, IA, passed away Friday, January 10, 2014, at Loring Hospital in Sac City. Robert Lynn Scheffler was born on June 15, 1947 in Sac City, IA to parents Milton and Lula (Means) Scheffler. He grew up in Sac City graduating with the Sac City High School class of 1965. He honorably served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War, where he received two purple hearts.
After his honorable discharge from the Army, Bob returned to his home town and worked for the city of Sac City for 44 years until his retirement in July 2012. Retirement got even sweeter when he married his wife Brenda on August 10, 2012.
Bob loved to hunt, especially deer hunting. He was a long-time member of the V.F.W. Post 590 and a volunteer fireman. He liked to relax watching WWE wrestling or a good football game. He will be dearly missed by those that knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Brenda of Sac City; daughter Nicci (Kyle) Timmerman of Lake City, IA; sons: Zach (Betsy) Scheffler of Bella Vista, AR, and Nathan (Nancy) Scheffler of Centerton, AR; step-son Floyd Griffor of Waterloo, IA; step-daughters: Alesha Dillander of Richmond, KY, and Jenni (Paul) Snabes of Jackson, MI; 16 grandchildren; brothers: Fred (Mary) Scheffler of Sac City, IA, Gene (Diane) Scheffler of Manson, IA, and Don (Florence) Scheffler of Mountain Home, ID; sisters: Sandy (Verlyn) Jarvis of Sac City, IA, Francis (Marv) Schettler of Storm Lake, IA, and Shirley Bales of Ida Grove, IA; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
