    Virgil Lamaak, age 86 of Wall Lake, IA, passed away November 7, 2020, at his home in Wall Lake, IA.  Virgil was born at his family home near Herring, IA, to parents John and Carrie Lamaak.

   In 1954, Virgil was united in marriage to Joyce Sageser.  This union was blessed with five children: Debbie, Cindy, Tim, Becky, and Terri. They later divorced. Virgil then was united in marriage to Diane Howorth in 1972.  Together, they were blessed with a son Virgil Jr.  They later divorced.

   Virgil was a hard worker.  He worked as a hired hand for many years, helping do chores on the farm and taking care of livestock.  He was one of those guys who always completed his work before his boss asked him too.  He also loved going to his mom and dad’s house to play cards.  Virgil enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and going fishing with his buddies. In his free time, he enjoyed socializing with his friends at the local tavern. 

   Virgil is survived by his children: Debbie Campbell of Denison, IA, Cindy Lawler of Wall Lake, IA, Tim Lamaak (Wanda Martin) of  Lake View, IA, Becky Remmick (Rob Peters) of LeMars, IA, Terri (Bruce) Page of Lake View, IA, and Virgil Jr. Lamaak of Carroll, IA; 15 grandchildren: Jennifer Schurke, John Campbell, David (Sarah) Campbell, Jessica (Jacob) Johnston, Laura Lawler (Jason Ransom), Chris (Nicole) Lawler, Sean (Heather) Lawler, Ashley (Mitch) Nevins, Justin (Katie) Lamaak, Heather (Shari) Remmick, Alicia Remmick, Ryan (Elly) Page, Brandon  Page (Rachel Grossman), and Adalyn and Jordan
Lamaak; 30 great-grandchildren: Emma and Gracie Schurke, Lilly and Gavin Campbell, Gabrielle and Brianna Campbell, Connor, Liam, and Damon Johnston, Tyler and Kaylee Lawler, Alexis, Braydan, Ethan, and Ciarra Ransom, Ayden, Ella, Lyric, Austin, Cheyann, Evin, Jordan, Bria, Raven, and Zaylynn Lawler, Daston, Asher, and Michael Lawler, Charity and Grace Nevins; five great-great-grandchildren: Paisley and Parker Lawler, Jerzee and Bentlee Dupre, and Piper Thelen: siblings: Orville Lamaak of Denison, IA, Geraldine Lamaak of Wall Lake, IA,  Annabelle Craig of Anthon, IA; and many other extended family members and friends.

   Virgil was preceded in death by his parents John and Carrie Lamaak; siblings: Cecil Lamaak, Marvin Lamaak, Ruby Paulson, Donald Lamaak, Jack Lamaak, and Violet Werkmeister; granddaughter Angela Lamaak; and many other family members.
