“I was a student at the Nemaha Consolidated School (later Crestland) from 1951 to 1962. I remember when George became principal at Nemaha. He was easy going and had a great smile and laugh. When I would come back from New York City for visits, I sometimes saw him and my cousin Tom Hicks at Hazel's Cafe in Nemaha. He had a long life at 100 years, with many friends. We should all be so lucky.”

“Our deepest codolences to George's family and the Nemaha community. George could easily be called a founding father without hesitation. I was blessed to meet him at church and enjoyed many a conversation where he would start with "Well , young man". God has called home one of his angels and obviously not before he was finished with his work through George. 100 years old. God rest his soul in eternal peace.”
