“Uncle Berk:

Know you are missed. Visiting Lake View and the farm was always a great time. The ice cream cake which Mary Lou always made when we visited is now a required part of any birthday celebration by choice. Even my 7 year old granddaughter requested that cake for her birthday party yesterday!

“My sincere sympathies at the loss of your father. He was obviously well loved by family and friends. Becky was my P.E. teacher at At-We-Va; she was one of my favorites. Dave Cochran too. Hope your family finds comfort in many fond memories. My Dad just passed at the end of January so I, too, know the sting of grief. God’s blessings to you.”

“I was not able to visit Uncle Berk very often. Just every few years. He was my husbands favorite uncle, and I loved listening to his stories from earlier, when Dennis was younger. He couldn’t have been nicer to me whenever we all got together. We will sure miss him!”

“So sorry to hear about Uncle Berk. He was always kind to me. Every card I got from him had a sweet message and then he would sign it simply with “Berk” and nothing else and it made me smile. My heart goes out to your family.”

“Berk always was working in his yard. He had a big silver maple in the back yard, and there was an old, big silver maple in my front yard. They would not drop their leaves till late November. He mowed and took good care of the yard so I tried to keep a neat yard. He was a good neighbor and a healthy one to set a good example to the rest of us. EXERCISE. The neighbors will miss him. God bless. ”
