Joyce Lamaak, age 85 of Sac City, IA, passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2019, at Black Hawk Life Care Center in Lake View, Iowa. Joyce was born on a farm near Breda, IA, to parents Raymond and Sarah (Raine) Sageser on October 1, 1934. She was baptized at the First Baptist Church in Sac City in 1973. Joyce grew up on a farm near Breda where she attended country school and then later attended Sac City High School.
On August 21, 1954, Joyce was united in marriage to Virgil Lamaak at the Peace Lutheran Church in Wall Lake, IA. This union was blessed with five children: Debbie, Cindy, Tim, Becky and Terri. They later divorced. Joyce was a homemaker and took pride in raising her family and also helped with child care at her church. Joyce loved shopping for collectables, such as salt and pepper shakers and Barbie dolls. Joyce enjoyed her time with her family and loved being involved in their lives. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew andloved her.
Joyce is survived by her children: Debbie Campbell of Denison, IA; Cindy Lawler of Wall Lake, IA; Tim Lamaak (Wanda Martin)of Lake View, IA; Becky Remmick (Rob Peters)of LeMars, IA; and Terri (Bruce) Page of Lake View, IA; 13 grandchildren; Jennifer Schurke, John Campbell, David (Sarah) Campbell, Jessica (Jacob) Johnston, Laura (Jason) Ransom Lawler, Chris Lawler, Sean (Heather) Lawler, Ashley (Mitch) Nevins, Justin (Katie) Lamaak, Heather (Shari) Remmick, Alicia Remmick, Ryan (Elly) Page, Brandon Page (Rachel Grossman); 29 greatgrandchildren: Emma and Gracie Schurke, Lilly and Gavin Campbell, Gabrielle and Brianna Campbell, Connor, Liam and Damon Johnston, Tyler, Parker and Paisley Lawler, Kaylee, Jerzee, and Bentlee Lawler, Braydan Ransom, Alexis and Piper Ransom, Ethan and Ciarra Ransom, Ayden, Cheyann, Austin and Zaylynn Lawler, Daston, Asher and Michael Lawler, Charity and Grace Nevins; brother Dwayne Sageser; many extended family members and friends.
Joyce is preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Sarah Sageser; granddaughter Angela Lamaak; sister-in-law Corrinne Sageser; many uncles and aunts; son-in-law Jerry Campbell; and grandson-in-law Karry Schurke.
