Rosella Ann Loxterkamp, age 91 of Marshall, MN, formerly of Sac City, IA, passed away on Sunday, September 1, 2019, at Avera Morningside Heights Care Center in Marshall, MN.  Rosella Ann Stumpf was born on July 12, 1928, to parents Fred and Josephine (Schwiderski) Stumpf in Rockwell City.  She was baptized and confirmed into the Catholic faith at the Rockwell City Catholic Church. Rosella grew up on the family farm near Rockwell City, where she attended grade school and graduated high school from the Catholic School.

On May 2, 1949, Rosella was united in marriage to Marvin Loxterkamp at the Catholic Church in Rockwell City. This union was blessed with four children: Mary Jo, Martha, Mark, and Charlie.  They made their home in Laurens, IA for 20 years before moving to Sac City. Rosella was a homemaker, worked along side her husband at their shoe store and later, was the bookkeeper for Sac Liquor Store.  Rosella taught religious education for many years at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sac City.  She was also involved in the leadership in starting the Howard Activity Center and bridge marathon.

Rosella was a friend to everyone.  She could always strike up a conversation and make you feel at home.  In her free time, she liked to sew, play bridge, work in her garden and go golfing.  She loved to bake, especially pies and cinnamon rolls and she would freeze her sweet corn every year.  Rosella loved her family and cherished her time spent with grandchildren and great-grandchildren, attending birthday parties and watching their school activities.  She will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish her memory include children: Mark (Sherrie) Loxterkamp of Missouri City, TX, Mary Jo (Lavern) Eick of Marshall, MN and Charlie (Teresa) Loxterkamp of Sac City, IA; grandchildren: Lesa (Tim) Ramos, Kristi (Jason) Shanks, Jill (Tim) Larsen, Lindsey (Kyle) Weckman, Whitney (Joey) Erwin, Taylor (Shellie) Loxterkamp, Chelsea Loxterkamp and Sidney Loxterkamp; great-grandchildren: Sierra, Jordan and Julia Shanks, Andrew and Collin Ramos, Grace, Lauren, Betty and Anna Larsen, Winston Weckman and Ellie Erwin; brother Dale (Joan) Stumpf of Rockwell City, IA; sisters: Florence Newberry of Fort Dodge, IA, Aletha Hayward of Las Vegas, NV, and Doris Dickerson of Altoona, IA; many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Rosella is preceded in death by her husband Marvin; daughter Martha; son-in-law Loren Olberding; her parents; sister Faye Mundie and brother Bernard Stumpf.
