   Rex Allen Sleight, age 58, of Odebolt, IA, passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2019, as the result of a tragic automobile accident near Odebolt.

   Rex was born on November 10, 1960, in Carroll, IA, to Robert Lyle and Dorothy (Paulsen) Sleight.  Rex was baptized at the First Presbyterian Church in Odebolt.  He attended grade school and high school in Odebolt where he enjoyed wrestling during his high school years.

   After graduating, Rex worked as a cook in the family restaurant business (Venture Inn) for a number of years.  When the restaurant closed he went to work for VT Industries in Holstein, IA, where he worked for 25 years with a perfect attendance.  On his 20th anniversary with VT he was awarded a trip to San Francisco, CA.  His favorite memory of that trip was seeing the Golden Gate Bridge.  Rex was an avid Cubs fan and movie buff. 

   Survivors include his siblings: Robert Sleight of Denison, IA, Linda (Gary) Schau of Charter Oak, IA, and Roger (Linda) Sleight of Odebolt, IA; his nephews: Chad (Courtny) Sleight and Bret (Andrea Petersen) Sleight; and other extended family members.  His life will always be loved and cherished by his family who survive him.

   Rex was preceded in death by his parents.
