Betty Woltman, age 52 of Alta, IA, passed away on Thursday, December 6, 2018, at the Holstein Good Samaritan Society in Holstein, IA. Betty Jo Woltman was born on December 19, 1965, to parents Billy and Lorraine (Gunderson) Woltman in Cherokee, IA. She was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cherokee.

Betty and her brothers: Dave, Dale, and Dean, and sisters: Billie, Trudy and Carla, grew up in the Cherokee area and she attended Storm Lake High School and graduated with the Class of 1986.

One of Betty’s favorite things to do was to gather with her friends for karaoke. She spent many hours doing this. She also really enjoyed collecting keychains. Betty volunteered for several of the churches in Laurens as well as at the library. She also took care of the activities and events that were scheduled at the local park shelter house.

Betty loved caring for her dogs over the years. She leaves behind her beloved dog Petra with whom she cared deeply for.

She loved family and friends unconditionally, even her nieces and nephews that she would take with to the store to buy candy and only share a small amount with them. Betty lived her entire life with her mother and was her caretaker and companion. They spent many hours sharing similar interests in music and television shows, both being a blessing to one another. Betty will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish her memory include her mother, Lorraine Woltman of Alta, IA; brothers: Dave (Denise) Woltman of Lake View, IA, Dale “Bubba” Woltman of Alta, IA, and Dean (Julie) Woltman of Manson, IA; sisters: Billie (Gailyn) Nehring of Storm Lake, IA, Trudy J. (Craig) Schroeder of Alta, IA, and Carla (Kerry) Schubert of Holstein, IA; several nieces and nephews; her dog, Petra; many extended family members and friends.

Betty was preceded in death by her father, Billy Woltman; grandparents: Ingval and Grace Gunderson, and Herman and Dollie Woltman; and nephew Cody Schubert.
