Gloa Mae Freese, age 66 of Early, IA, passed away on Thursday, October 11, 2018, at Unity Point Health Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge, IA.

Gloa was born on May 7, 1952 to parents Virgil and Eula Mae (Crampton) Freese in Carroll, IA.  She grew up in Early, IA and was baptized at the Wheatland Presbyterian Church.  Gloa attended Crestland grade school and graduated with the class of 1970 from Crestland High School.  After graduation, Gloa worked at restaurants, Virgil’s Truck Stop and had other various jobs.  She worked the paper routes while growing up and in 1981, she took over the route and worked up until her passing.

In her free time, Gloa enjoyed mowing lawns with her brother-in-law Jim Platt and babysitting her great nieces and nephews.  She loved being around family and was always crocheting things for them.  Gloa could spend the day reading a book, playing solitaire or doing crossword puzzles.  She was a wonderful daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, and will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish Gloa’s memory are her siblings: Virginia (Jim) Platt of Early, IA, Dianne (Jim) Tiefenthaler of Early, IA, Jerry Freese of Early, IA, and Jeff (Chris) Freese of Schleswig, IA; sister-in-law Dawn Freese of Manson, IA; five nieces; three nephews; and numerous great nieces and nephews.

Gloa was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Eula Mae Freese; sister Linda Freese; and brother Larry Freese.
